Springfield has gotten to be a lot more colorful lately as Fresh Paint Springfield continues its work beautifying the cityscape with artistic murals. Among the murals are meaningful contributions representing the region’s sizeable Puerto Rican population, courtesy of the Puerto Rican artist group, Colectivo Moriviví. Group of muralist Salomé Cortés Robles, Raysa Raquel Rodríguez García, and Sharon González Colón — all of whom have been personally affected by the devastating 2017 Hurricane Maria — share their perspectives on the Springfield arts project and what it means to help the Puerto Rican community heal through the visual arts.
